This KMC X9 chain is great for all 9 speed systems. The E-Series was developed with extra safety reserves for E-Bikes, but is also a perfect choice for classic bikes too. High performance 9 speed chain with long lasting life.

The Non-Directional design makes it independent of direction which allows maximum compatibility on MTB or Race bikes. With its unique stretch-proof treatment, the durability has been enhanced massively by reducing the attrition between the inner plates and pin. As a result, chain life has been significantly prolonged. The upper bridge forms a slant vault parallel to the tip of tooth movement. This vault shape makes the tooth and chain engage much more precisely.

X-Bridge
The KMC X-Series has been designed with the specific characteristics of the Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo systems in mind and will meet the most demanding requirements. Elaborately designed and manufactured, the X-Bridge technology, thanks to precisely chamfered plates, allows smooth propulsion and perfect gear changes in all driving situations.

Nickel Plate
Nickel is an alloying metal that is mainly used for steel refinement. It makes steel resistant to corrosion, increases its hardness and toughness and is very effective as a rust protection.

Our analysis of power transmission on e-bikes with mid-mounted motors revealed that the frequent shifting operations under load require significantly higher safety reserves that cannot be realised with conventional chains. The critical part is the connecting pin, which is exposed to the most extreme forces during shifting.
