The PD-R9100’s extra-wide platform increases the shoe-to-pedal contact area, improving the efficiency of power transfer from you to the bike. Wide bearing placement distributes load more evenly. Low stack height provides a stable platform for optimal pedaling. Exclusively spec’d with the SM-SH12 blue cleat for a tighter shoe/pedal connection.

Shimano’s optional extended axle adds 4mm to the distance between the crank and the foot position. This allows riders with naturally wider hips to maintain correct leg and foot alignment on the pedals.
