Halfords Autocentres in Slough launches car collection for services
Halfords Autocentres in Slough has launched a contactless collection and delivery service for those who are busy and time-poor, or worried about Coronavirus but still need to get a service or MOT for their car. It is one of 30 trial locations across the UK: https://www.halfords.com/car-servicing/product-info/collection-and-delivery.html
For £19.99, a technician from Halfords will offer to pick up and then return the car after the service.
To book the car collection and delivery service, motorists can book online and select the ‘collect my vehicle’ option. They will then be able to select a date for the service and book in the normal way. The Autocentre will then contact the customer directly to arrange a collection time on the day.
Aaron Edwards from Halfords Autocentres who is responsible for the service says: “By introducing a contact-free collection and delivery service, we believe we will give customers who are staying indoors or self-isolating the option of making sure they can still take their cars in for a service and MOT and ensure they are safe and roadworthy.”
How It Works:
You can book the service online here
On the day the Halfords Autocentre technician will call the customer to confirm the vehicle inspection process, arrange a safe place to hand over keys and agree where to leave the Halfords substitute car while the customers car is being serviced. The technician takes a number of Covid safety measures to keep customers and their vehicles safe, including ventilating the car, wearing a mask, disposable gloves and fitting a protective car care kit including seat covers, hand brake wrap and steering wheel covers.
Halfords Autocentres will keep motorists informed of any work that’s required throughout the job, and when the work has been completed will call the customer to arrange a time to drop off the vehicle.
